Revealed: 82% of Tottenham fans want Haris Seferovic as Harry Kane’s back-up

According to our recent poll, a large majority of Tottenham fans would support a January move for Benfica striker Haris Seferovic to act as back-up for Harry Kane.

Ever since Kane became the main man upfront at Spurs, successive managers have failed to find a suitable striker to act as his number two. Roberto Soldado, Vincent Janssen and now Fernando Llorente have all failed to perform when called upon over the years, but a January move for Swiss international Seferovic could make a huge difference to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, providing competition for Kane and allowing the Argentine boss to rest the England captain when necessary.

Seferovic recently hit the headlines as he netted a perfect hat-trick in Switzerland’s thumping 5-2 win over Toby Alderweireld’s Belgium, despite Roberto Martinez’s side being ranked as the best international team in the world by FIFA.

The 26-year-old’s left-footed tap-in, sweeping right-footed finish and impressive header all came after impressive pieces of movement that found him in acres of space in the 18-yard box, proving just why Pochettino would be wise to make a move in January.

In fact, 82 per cent of the Tottenham fans that answered our poll wanted Spurs to sign him. Check out the full results below.
